Cath and Tom step into a vast hall, the air cooler, almost alive. At the base of a toppled statue, Cath’s flashlight catches a glint of green. She crouches, pulling a pair of earrings from the dust—deep blueish green sapphires, luminous and framed in gold, their shapes organic and regal.

CATH
Tom, I think I found something.

Tom ambles over, peering down as she holds the earrings up.

TOM
(genuine awe)
Now those... those are something else.

CATH
(softly)
Sapphires. Look at the way they’re cut—like they’re shaped by the earth itself.

TOM
(nods)
But the gold? That’s not rough work. Someone wanted these to last.

Cath turns the earrings, showing their sparkle

CATH

TOM
(grinning)
You’re sure they’re not cursed? They’re too perfect not to be cursed.

CATH
(smiling faintly)

She tucks the earrings into her pouch, a flicker of reverence in her eyes. Tom watches her, intrigued, as they move deeper into the hall, shadows swallowing their footsteps.
