This year marks twenty years for our small shop. As an independent, family designer and jeweler who sources, designs and crafts most everything in our showroom, we take pride in being an anomaly in an industry dominated by mass market designers and luxury brand hype. Our work, from grinding at the computer, to crafting on the bench, to hosting in our showroom, has always focused on something different: intention, craft, and an intimate connection to the people who wear our jewelry.
Number 1 in our Limited Edition Anniversary Collection: The 4carat Near Heart Pendant
At the center of this piece is a natural, 4 carat fancy color diamond, double cut to reveal beauty from every angle. A "modified heart" shape, this stone defied traditional setting styles and tested our patience - the usual approaches would have hidden one side of the stone entirely. That challenge pushed us (often begrudgingly) to design outside the box, leading to nearly one hundred iterations (really) before landing on a design that honored the diamond's full character while still feeling wearable and not overwrought. One side we framed with natural round brilliant white diamonds to enhance the stone's color, the other left open to emphasize the rarity of cut and gorgeous depth.
A handmade solid 18k rose gold nugget chain lends weight and soft sparkle, creating an incredible hand feel - both substantial and yet effortless. The 19th century antique swivel clasp, invites interaction and play... a finely honed fidget object, meant to be touched, turned, and worn with joy. This swivel clasp is stamped with the Owl - the French state Hallmark for 18k rose gold.
